According to the recent census of post-enumeration survey there are 1147 women for every thousand men in the Russian Federation (53%). Such predominance may be observed starting from the age of 33. The average age of a Russian man is 36 years, while a Russian woman is 40; they live on average 12 years longer than men. Marital structure can be classified like this: in every thousand citizens of the age above sixteen 210 have never been married, 572 are married, 114 are widows and 94 divorced.
